Seeing Spots: Glass Shower Enclosures

Sometimes I feel like Ophelia, only I’m seeing a less gruesome form of spots. I see soap and water spots on glass shower enclosures and I’m quite certain I know how she felt: insane!

We have found through much trial and error, a couple of ways to remove these bothersome blotches.

Remember the sponges? Last Tuesday? You do read the Tips every week, right? Heh.

So spray your glass (this works on mirrors and really dirty windows as well), with vinegar and water. A 60/40 ratio works best. Let it sit for a couple of minutes to “cook”. (See, these tips just keep coming full circle, don’t they?) Then take the scratchy side of a blue sponge and gently wipe the glass. Next, take a lint free cloth and shine it up!

Didn’t work? Then that soap scum has been there a while. It happens to the best of us. You want to use the same method, but a different cleaner. Citrus based cleaners (we’ll have ours for you this year!) left for 5 minutes should cut through the scum. You may need to follow up with the vinegar and water to get the shine that makes people and birds think there is no glass there. What could be more fun than that?

Share your stories folks, it’s not all about us here!
